- Built between 1840 and 1915, Victorian homes have a grand presence on any Atlanta street. The earlier Victorians were simple in style, but in the late 1890s, the style became a bit more ornate, characterized by steep gables, "Gingerbread" wood detailing, pointed windows, and vibrant colors inside and out. Like the bungalows, these homes feature hardwood floors, fireplaces, very high ceilings (9 to 12 feet) and a large front porch is quite common.
